What do you use as a ceiling temp when free running? I have a yearling that wants to run flat out, like a bolt of lightening (yea!) when let out of her run. I restrict her to morning and evening, but even evening temps are still around 80. At least she does stop and drink frequently, and I keep her play time to a half hour.

I dislike running my dogs if it's above 10C(whatever that is in Farenhiet).
That said my K9's are longhaired.
I do take them for walks inthe early morn or late eve. It gets to be 20 by 8:30-9:00 and by 2:00 it's usually about 25 to 27 by 2:00 or 3:00. It does not cool down till about midnight most of the summer. I haven't seen a dawn this summer that is below 15.
As soon as we get the home from our walk I have plenty of cold water handy for them to drink.

I think Life is Beauty waiting to be found and appreciated. ...like mushing.
